Inspector highlights
Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Germs are on your hands but you can't see them, they're so tiny. If you wash your hands, you wash them off.
Inclusion & environment
The manager and staff are highly attuned to the needs of all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. They work closely with parents and other professionals to devise targeted strategies and ensure children receive ongoing support. Where children need more support, staff work exceptionally well with parents and other professionals to create individual learning plans to close any emerging gaps in children's learning.
Children make frequent trips out of the setting, for example, to the local woods. Forest school training has enabled staff to provide regular forest school sessions, where children can deepen their learning about the natural world. This is also promoted as the pre-school has its own allotment, where children help to plant and grow cabbages, tomatoes and pumpkins. Parents comment on the value staff place on outdoor play.
