How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported by all staff. Staff observe children to identify their interests and next steps in development, identifying emerging needs. Leaders swiftly implement one-to-one support sessions, such as with a music or art therapist, and work closely with other professionals and agencies to extend support.

Outdoor space

Outside, staff teach older children to play games like 'Mr Wolf', where children listen to instructions and learn rules. Children's energy levels are high, and staff support them to enjoy their excitement.

Fantastic nursery!! I was super nervous about sending my boy here as he has never been apart from me, But the staff and manager made me feel reassured. They are very approachable and provide a warm and caring atmosphere. The staff are very supportive and caring of the children’s needs. My boy has really settled in and loves going there. It really prepares them well for school and encourages positive values and relation- ships with other children. Would definitely recommend for outstanding childcare facilities. Thank you for all your hard work. X

Hands down the best nursery in Sheffield! My eldest daughter came here 10 years ago, and she absolutely loved it. Fast forward 10 years I started my youngest here last year and she absolutely loves it too. All the teachers that were here 10 years ago still work here which is very comforting. The nursery has a very calm environment, and they take pride in ensuring your child is happy and safe! They always go above and beyond! The school its self is constantly improving, the outside area is lovely and has many things for the kids to do. Amazing nursery, amazing staff. Thankyou!

Fantastic nursery! The staff are always very welcoming, supportive and professional. They helped my daughter settle in and I didn’t worry about her being there at all. I was able to check on her by phone when she wasn’t settled and the staff will always speak and listen to any worries they/I have which is excellent.

Ellesmere Children’s Centre is an absolute gem in Sheffield! I am so impressed by their outstanding childcare services, intentional care, and beautiful newly renovated facilities. The staff are incredible and pride themselves on bringing multilingual, diverse, and genuine care into their work. The Centre’s ethos of celebrating differences is not just a tagline but a lived practice, and it creates a unique learning experience for children and community members. The Emosi Therapy Centre is amazing as well and the tailored, child-led approach are fantastic for supporting emotional development. On top of this, their renovated community spaces are a brilliant resource for local events and groups. Ellesmere truly goes above and beyond for children, families, and the wider community, and I am truly excited for their future partnerships and continued growth!

My little boy really enjoys coming to nursery, he’s always excited to go and see his friends and often speaks about seeing his nursery teachers too. Great communication with explaining what he has got up to and learnt each time I collect him I’m amazed how much he has learnt. & I love how inclusive it is, learning about other ethnicities, important days and religions. Highly recommend and can’t wait for my other little boy to start
