About this day nursery

UK Kidz, located in Sheffield, strives to offer adaptable childcare solutions designed to cater to the diverse needs of families. They focus on delivering a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable atmosphere for children, drawing on the skills of qualified childminders, some of whom are bilingual.

The well-being and developmental progress of each child are paramount to the organisation. UK Kidz provides bespoke sessions for children with special needs, and offers general childcare services, including school drop-offs and pick-ups, as well as overnight care for parents working night shifts.

They also provide respite care for siblings and parents of children with learning disabilities. The mission of UK Kidz is to meet the childcare requirements of children and the demands of parents, utilising heuristic play for pre-schoolers to foster natural curiosity and exploration.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Staff ensure that children have regular opportunities to explore and play outside. This has a positive impact on children's health and well-being, giving them a wide variety of opportunities to practise and develop their physical skills as they run, jump, dig and kick large balls.

EAL / language support

Staff actively support children's communication and language skills. They recognise the importance of supporting children who speak English as an additional language. There are some staff members who speak children's first languages, as well as using visual communication. This supports children to develop their communication skills.
