Enya's Childcare Ltd in Peterborough provides early years education with a strong emphasis on a Reggio-inspired approach, fostering a love for learning in children. The nursery encourages children to lead their own projects based on their interests and inquiries, with educators supporting their explorations rather than dictating outcomes.
This method involves extensive research and reflection on the learning process, utilising pedagogical documentation such as written observations, photos, and video recordings to understand and honour each child's perspective. By deeply understanding what motivates each child, Enya's Childcare tailors experiences to cultivate a lasting passion for learning.
The nursery also incorporates Forest School principles, offering children rich outdoor learning opportunities that complement their indoor activities. This holistic approach aims to empower children, seeing them as authors and inventors of their own educational journey, ultimately enriching their development and fostering a positive educational experience.
Our ethos
Enya's Childcare Ltd draws inspiration from both the Reggio Emilia and Forest School approaches. They champion a child-led, inquiry-based pedagogy where children's interests drive their projects, and educators act as facilitators. The nursery values pedagogical documentation and reflection to understand each child's perspective, aiming to foster a lifelong love of learning through tailored experiences and rich outdoor exploration.

Inclusion & environment
Staff respond to children's individual needs with skill and knowledge. In consultation with parents, they develop detailed individual plans for children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to help to provide an appropriate curriculum for all children. The special educational needs coordinator makes well-informed referrals for specialist advice and support for children with SEND, which staff consistently use.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, staff have increased children's access to the outdoor environment and physical activity, which has had a very positive impact on children's ability to regulate their emotions, settle, and concentrate for longer periods of time. During forest school sessions, children experience managed risks, such as running through the forest and avoiding hawthorn branches, and staff provide challenging structures for children to freely explore and climb.
Last week, after the owner asked parents for reviews, I left a negative review expressing that I was upset about being removed from the payment section. Following this, the owner sent me multiple messages stating that, because of my review, I would no longer be allowed to pick up my daughter (I have screenshots of this). When I made it clear that I would call the police if I was refused access to my own child, the owner then changed her mind (screenshot attached). This was an extremely upsetting experience, and I believe it is important for other parents to be aware of how the nursery management handled the situation. ---
Read on GoogleI cannot speak highly enough of the team at Enya's Childcare. Both of my daughters have attended the setting and we have had wonderful experiences. I moved my first daughter to Enya's from another setting that she hadn't settled at and never looked back. The Famly app is great and always updated with plenty of photos and updates and the communication from the team is spot on with regular in person updates and debriefs too. The activities are so creative and fun for the children and the team take such an interest in each child, knowing and understanding them so well. It is such a relief to know that my girls have been in such a loving and safe setting while not with me and it has really set them up for starting school! Thank you to the team, we really appreciate you all
Read on GoogleIn November 2022 I applied for a place for my daughter at Enya's, sending over the application form and paying the deposit with the hope of my daughter starting in Summer 2023. Enya's never made any contact with me. In December 2023 it was clear my daughter would not get a place and was due to start school in September 2024 so it was no longer appropriate for her to move nursery so I emailed to ask for my deposit to be returned. Again I had no response. When I visited Enya's it was a beautiful setting, however I am beyond disappointed with the way I have been treated and their poor communication..
Read on GoogleAfter moving my daughter to another nursery. I'll never look back. She was unhappy and not herself after being placed in this nursery. Unfortunately this place came across as being too clinical.
