About this day nursery

Eureka Nursery, part of the Willenhall Community Forum, offers full-day childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 4 years within the Willenhall Education, Employment and Training Centre. The nursery provides a variety of sessions, including full-day care for working or training parents, and caters to 2, 3, and 4-year-old funded places.

Operating for 50 weeks a year from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, children can attend all year or term-time only. 5yr-3yrs), and Pre-school (3-4yrs)—the nursery emphasises outdoor learning, utilising two large outdoor areas and an on-site forest school.

All rooms adhere to the EYFS framework, with individualised planning by dedicated key persons. Additionally, Eureka Discovery Hut provides sessional pre-school childcare for 2-4 year olds during term time, with morning (8:30 AM - 11:30 AM) or afternoon (12:30 PM - 3:30 PM) sessions.

The nursery also runs a Holiday Club for school-aged children (5-11 years), offering a range of engaging activities and trips. The setting prioritises parental involvement, viewing parents as a child’s first educator, and fosters strong relationships with families, incorporating their feedback to enhance services.

Healthy eating is promoted through snacks and meals, and children develop self-care skills during mealtimes. The nursery encourages child-initiated learning, involving children in the planning process and fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and children are encouraged to reach their full potential.

Our ethos

Eureka Nursery is a community nursery that actively uses the local community and works alongside local schools and churches to provide a variety of experiences for children. The nursery embraces an 'outdoor learning' ethos, believing that children benefit both physically and mentally from being outdoors, and this is integrated into all planning. All rooms follow the EYFS framework, with a focus on individualised learning and development, as the nursery believes all children develop and learn at their own pace. The mission statement highlights providing an inclusive programme of activities and experiences, promoting equality, and offering all children the chance to play and develop to their full potential, while ensuring staff, parents/carers and children understand these aims and work to achieve them. The nursery also strongly supports British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance, integrating these into daily practices and learning experiences.

What it's like

Children form strong emotional attachments to their key person and staff, feeling safe and secure and settling quickly into daily routines. They display positive behaviours, take turns, and use manners. Staff are attentive and sensitive to individual needs, planning engaging activities based on children's interests and learning next steps.
