About this day nursery

Cherry Tree Nurseries, established in 2007 by Harvey Kalsi, operates with a philosophy centred on creating a nurturing "home from home" environment while fostering strong relationships with families. The nursery is divided into three distinct age groups: Babies, Toddlers, and Pre-school, with each group engaging in age-appropriate activities.

Nutritional meals are freshly prepared on-site, accommodating various dietary needs and cultural preferences. The nursery features bright, open-plan spaces and two secure gardens, providing ample opportunities for outdoor exploration and learning.

Cherry Tree Nurseries follows the "Birth to 5 matters" framework, a comprehensive curriculum designed to support children's development across prime and specific learning areas, ensuring they are well-prepared for school. The framework emphasises personal, social, and emotional development, physical development, communication and language, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

The nursery aims to create a stimulating and safe environment where children can thrive and develop essential skills.

Our ethos

Our ethos is to form relationships will our familes and adopt a home from home philosophy. We believe that: The children are our future, so let's take care of them!

What it's like

Children run down the path to the setting and eagerly wait to enter, happily separating from their parents, showing they feel safe and secure. Staff plan a curriculum that builds on what children already know and can do, enthusiastically tackling challenges that build their large-muscle skills, indoors and outdoors. Staff understand the importance of sharing books with children to build their vocabulary, with babies enjoying story time cuddles and older children engaging in interactive story sessions.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff ensure children with special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress. They identify areas of potential developmental delay early and plan activities to provide additional support. In partnership with parents, staff make timely referrals to seek specialist advice when required, complete additional training, and work proactively with other professionals to ensure children receive the support they need.

Outdoor space

Children enthusiastically tackle challenges that build their large-muscle skills, indoors and outdoors. Babies crawl around and practise their walking skills as they cruise around fencing and low-level equipment. Toddlers climb up and down steps and gleefully come down slides as they play peekaboo with staff. Pre-school children build on these skills as staff support them to safely climb apparatus, pedal tricycles and practise their ball throwing skills.

My son has had a wonderful experience at the nursery, and I want to give special thanks to his key worker, Courtney, for the care and support she provides every day. She always takes the time to understand his needs and keeps us well-informed, which we truly appreciate. He also loves spending time with the wider team, including Isobel, Delaney, Alyssia, Ellie, Casey, and Jas. They all help make his days fun, engaging, and comfortable. The staff consistently give us a thorough and reassuring handover, which makes us feel confident and involved in his progress. The communication for a parent is very good and you are never felt to be 'too much' or annoying. The team are more than happy to let you know anything they need vice versa. We’re very grateful for the warmth, professionalism, and positivity shown by everyone. Thank you for making his and our nursery experience so enjoyable!

I can't be happier with choosing cherry tree nursery in Binley. My baby girl Emily is attending this nursery since she was 9 months old (she's almost 19 months old now). Emily would just run inside in the morning without looking back or saying bye bye to mummy lol Staff there is incredibly nice. Courtney is just sent by God: she is so passionate and so professional. Girls would always keep me updated of how Emilys day was, what did she do, put pictures or videos on the app. Other girls I've met (Allysia, Isobel, Delaney, Jadpreet etc.) are also so lovely. I just know that I am always leaving my baby girl in good hands and with confidence. Management is very professional and warm. Casey and Janine would always help and support with any questions. Just recently Emily sadly have lost her dad, and honestly, the support Casey and other girls provided was beyond the words. I will be forever grateful for it ❤️ No doubt that I would always choose Cherry Tree nursery and I am confident that my second girl Elsie that is due 10th January 2026 will also attend this nursery. Thank you all xx

I am very happy with the choice to send my son to this nursery. We transferred him from another nursery earlier this year and I must say that I’ve seen a huge positive change in him. He enjoys going in - we went from screaming every morning to him walking in by himself 😍 he sleeps better in this nursery, enjoys his meals and play time. I need to say a special thank you to our worker Delaney - she’s so amazing! She keeps us updated and does very comprehensive handovers during pick ups - I love hearing what he’s been up to! Also love Courtney, she’s always so happy and kind when I’m picking my son up. Thanks team for making the transfer so easy and for making me feel really good about my decision! 😊

Our little boy started this nursery in April time this year and he has come on leaps and bounds since starting. He has taken such a liking to his key worker Courtney. When we explain he’s going nursery in the morning and we say let’s go see Courtney his face lights up and he gets so excited, Courtney always takes the time at pick up to talk us through his day and how he has been, I was nervous about him starting nursery but it brings me so much comfort that he has a keyworker like Courtney. Overall the nursery is amazing and all of the staff are so welcoming and friendly, we haven’t come across any problems since he started.

I can’t thank cherry tree nursery enough for making me feel so content with my choice to send my daughter Mia here. As a first time mummy I was so anxious and nervous about leaving my daughter in someone else’s care. From the first day in baby room I felt the warmth from the genuine care shown especially Courtney. As I was leaving my daughter on the first day I was an absolute wreck, I cried my heart out and Courtney gave me such a genuine and caring hug. Not long after my daughter moved into toddler room and the change I saw in her was heartwarming. The development was brilliant. Jaspreet, Isobel and Elle-Mai have been outstanding. I mentioned my worries about my daughter not eating and from then on they have alway done their upmost bro encourage her and help her eat better. Every handover they reassure me about her food intake that day. The activities they do are absolutely amazing. My little girl comes home talking about jaspreet, Ellie- Mai and Isobel all the time. You can see all through all the staff they have genuine care, no one ever looks miserable. Everyone is always smiling and so polite. I can’t thank you all enough for making me feel so content, you will never know how much it means to me. Thank you
