Explorers Pre-School is a charitable, committee-run early years setting located in Henstridge, operating on a term-time only basis. Managed by a highly qualified team, including a level 5 manager, the pre-school prides itself on providing a supportive and nurturing environment for children's learning and development.
The voluntary management committee, comprising parents, carers, and community members, ensures the smooth and efficient running of the pre-school. They offer various session options, including morning, afternoon, and full-day care.
Explorers Pre-School actively embraces both indoor and outdoor learning, fostering an environment that encourages discovery, engagement, and the development of confidence and independence in children. While independent, the pre-school benefits from strong ties with St Nicholas Primary School, utilising its grounds for activities and collaborating on smooth transitions for children starting school.

Inclusion & environment
Staff complete regular observations and assessments, helping to identify any gaps in children's development. Leaders have recently linked with local health visitors to support children and parents, helping to close gaps in children's learning.
Younger children build their strength, coordination and balance as they confidently walk down the steps to the garden. Children benefit from fresh air and exercise every day, supporting their physical development and well-being. Staff and parents have recently worked together to renovate the outside area. This has impacted positively on children's love of nature and wildlife.
