Fairfield Day Nursery, located in a charming Georgian building nestled within an acre of land in Leigh, Lancashire, has been dedicated to providing exceptional childcare for over two decades. The nursery prides itself on fostering a warm, home-like atmosphere where children feel secure and supported.
They emphasise building strong relationships with parents and carers to deliver a personalised and flexible service tailored to each child's needs. The facility is thoughtfully designed to cater to different age groups: a dedicated "Baby Cottage" offers a gentle introduction to nursery life for infants under two, complete with its own outdoor decking area for year-round play.
Toddlers aged two to three enjoy spacious facilities on the ground floor of the main building, featuring a gated garden for active exploration. Pre-schoolers aged three and four benefit from five free-flow rooms designed for varied learning experiences and a large outdoor play area with construction, water play, sandpits, and planting areas.

Parents describe the nursery as being a caring setting that nurtures their child and the whole family.
Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive prompt early support. Staff work exceptionally well with parents and other professionals to create individual learning plans to help children with SEND progress well from their starting points. Partner agencies praise the nursery for supporting parents to arrange and attend appointments to support children in their health, education and well-being.
While many children enjoy learning outside, access to the outdoor area is limited. To further enhance the curriculum, staff should consider how to increase outdoor learning opportunities.
Absolutely outstanding setting! The staff go above and beyond to provide a home from home feel. My child started in babyroom and left when due to go to school. He made amazing bonds with all staff and had some lovely friendships. We had some tricky times which were hard to navigate. Nursery could not have done any more, their professionalism And care was outstanding. I would highly recommend the nursery!
Read on GoogleMy son attended this nursery and he absolutely thrived here. Nothing was ever too much trouble for staff and they really put their all into getting to know my child on a personal level and working alongside what we wanted for him at home. He enjoyed coming in every morning and that was so reassuring for me, I felt as though I was given detailed messages about his day and there were different activities set up every day for him to get involved in! If we hadn’t moved out of the area I absolutely would not hesitate to send any of my future children to Fairfield.
Read on GoogleDaughter attended the nursery and following a relationship breakdown I found the nursery to be very unprofessional. The nursery leaked confidential conversations to mother causing alarm and distress for both parties. The nursery have posted multiple pictures of my daughter on social media despite me signing a form to say she is not to appear on social media. The nursery refused to inform me of my daughter's attendance. My daughter appeared to be involved in a lot of accidents while under the supervision of the staff, one resulting in a visit to A&E. In short I would not recommend this nursery. I removed my daughter from the nursery and she attended another nursery which she thoroughly enjoyed. The experience was completely different at her new nursery who kept mother involved with her development and communicated when appropriate.
Read on GoogleGreat nursery, my child has benefited from her experience at Fairfield. The staff are caring, friendly and always professional. I would definitely recommend this nursery.
