Excellent childcare, but serious concerns about management. We want to be very clear that the care and services at Woodgreen Day Nursery are excellent. The staff are kind, professional, and attentive, and our daughter genuinely enjoyed her time there. The learning environment and day-to-day activities are of a high standard, and we have no concerns about the quality of childcare. Our concerns relate solely to the business managers communications. Over several weeks, we raised a reasonable query, not complaint but a query. Instead of addressing our questions constructively, we were met with dismissive, confrontational, and occasionally aggressive responses. Requests to discuss matters directly by phone were refused, and some of our emails were ignored entirely. Despite our efforts to remain collaborative (including enrolling our twins) the handling of our concerns left us feeling we had no option but to withdraw our daughter and cancel the twins reserved places. This was deeply disappointing, and very sad for us felling no other option to pull our Daughter out of an environment she had grown familiar with, we valued the nursery and the environment it provides for children. It is important for prospective parents to understand that while the childcare itself is excellent, there are serious issues with how management communicates with families and handles legitimate concerns. Respectful and transparent communication from management is vital for parents to feel supported, and unfortunately, this was not our experience. We hope the nursery reflects on this feedback to improve how parental queries are handled. This review is not a criticism of the staff or the care provided as we couldnt praise that aspect enough: it is about the experience of parents and the impact of management communications.

My daughter attends nursery here and we can't say enough positive things about our experience so far. The staff are attentive, they notice things about our girl talking and her interests that we hadn't even managed to notice at home yet! The food is great and our picky eater eats double lunch almost every day (lifesaver for us tbh!) and she comes out happy as anything. Thank you to the team, keep up the great work!

Well done to the whole team at Acorn One for the outstanding work 👏🏻. They’re real wizards of child’s development: settling, eating, sleeping, movement, social skills. My child started at 7 months, despite a young age settled in every well. Since starting the nursery 6 months ago I can see more consideration to other children, showing sympathy like hugging a teddy and giving a crying child a toy, real curiosity exploring books and toys at such early age. Not to mention that his eating and sleeping habits got a bit more rounded. What’s not to love?

I rarely write reviews, but having seen the comments from the two ladies above, I have to disagree. As a parent (and now a grand-parent) I’ve had first-hand experience with Woodgreen Nursery for many years and have always been impressed by the level of care they offer, the dedication they show and the facilities they’ve invested in. I've had experience of other children's nurseries, but in my view they are probably the best in the area and I find it difficult to believe that they would not give a child fluids for over eight hours. That sounds inconceivable to me.
