About this day nursery

Fetcham Village Pre-School, established in 2006, provides a warm and nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 4 years. Open term-time only from 8:35 am to 3:00 pm, the pre-school is situated in the grounds of Fetcham Village Infant School.

Children arrive eager to start their day, greeted by familiar staff who take the time to get to know each child and their family, fostering a sense of safety and security. The pre-school has a "Good" Ofsted rating, following its latest inspection on 23rd May 2025.

Leaders and staff implement a highly ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum, which helps children to remember previous learning and build on their prior knowledge through weekly themes. For example, staff ignite children's imaginations with ample resources during themes such as 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', enabling them to make connections with familiar stories.

The curriculum also focuses on developing children's knowledge of the world around them. Children engage in outdoor learning activities, such as creating a planting area with lavender and vegetables, where they learn to water plants and observe a wormery.

Leaders swiftly identify any children who may benefit from additional support, developing specific plans with targeted daily intervention sessions led by their key person. This ensures that all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), make good progress from their starting points.

Parents report that the activities and ideas shared by Fetcham Village Pre-School are fun and encourage their involvement in their children's learning.
