Inclusion & environment
Staff know children well and consider their individual needs when planning activities to ensure that they target children's next steps. Staff and leaders work collaboratively when planning how to use additional funding to support children's individual needs. For example, they purchase resources to help narrow any gaps in children's development and enhance their learning experiences. The individual needs of all children are met and understood. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Children giggle as they run from tree to tree in the wooded area and pretend to be sailing in a boat. Children enjoy long periods of time outdoors, where they benefit from fresh air and exercise. They notice their heart rate increasing after running and talk about the importance of drinking water.
We are so impressed and grateful for all that the staff do, day in and day out for our son. They well and truly go above and beyond at all times. Our son has been at Gelston since turning 1 so we have experienced the baby room (bunnies), toddler room (owlets) and now preschool (owls). At each age, I couldn't say enough positives about the staff, and their care, passion and knowledge within their roles - at all levels. A special shout-out has to go to three members of staff in particular, our son's key workers, they are incredible members of staff who have made the nursery journey seamless and enjoyable at all times. And of course, this wouldn't be possible without the outstanding management. We are also incredibly grateful for the time and effort that goes into updating the communication app daily - this gets us through the day. Thank you. We couldn't recommend Gelston enough.
Read on GoogleGelston Manor has been a huge part of our family for over 4 years. We have entrusted the staff with the care of both of our children from being babies, a decision that is never easy for parents but we immediately felt that this was the perfect place for them to grow and learn. Fantastic outdoor space that you really won't find anywhere else. A curiosity approach style of learning and development, in a beautiful setting. Take a look, you won't regret it ☺️
Read on GoogleOur son recently joined Gelston Manor Day Nursery and has loved every moment. The staff are extremely friendly and the nursery is set in an amazing location with great space for outdoor activities for the children. A truly great place for children and their development!
Read on GoogleAmazing nursery inside and out!! Staff are all amazing with children and proof is that they almost cry when they leave, fresh cooked food everyday respecting a child’s balanced diet! Endless outdoor activities which means children feel they’re in an adventure every single day rather than an artificial restricted back yard like seen in so many other nurseries. Also, great emphasis on natural materials for toys and creative playing aligned more with Montessori methods. This is the best nursery we could have chosen for our twins!!!!We’re so lucky and can’t recommend them enough to friends!!!
Read on GoogleHighly recommended, amazing key workers, homemade food, beautiful rennovated nursery rooms and an amazing outside play space. We looked at many nurseries in the area, but when we viewed Gelston we knew immediately it was the right place for us. Our little one has settled in well in his first week with no tears at drop offs and by day two babbling away and loving his time at nursery. Our key worker tells us all about his day, sends us photos and works with us to try new foods, experiences and share his progress. We are looking forward to seeing him developer further and make friends for life along the way. The nursery managers also share useful links of funs things to do at home, receipes etc which is really useful especially throughout lockdown.
