How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well supported. Staff make timely referrals and work in partnership with other professionals involved in children's care and learning. Therefore, children with SEND make consistently good progress.

Outdoor space

Following an incident where the provider notified Ofsted that a child was accidentally left in the garden, the provider took prompt action to prevent this happening again. They revised their risk assessments procedures for transitioning children between the indoor and outdoor areas.

Our daughter went here for 6 months after we moved to Buckshaw. We moved her out of the settings as we didn't deem it a fit or professional place. They have a 'pack them in, pack them high' corporate mentality. We never felt that our daughter was anything but a number. The ratio of staff to children was below government recommendations. Some of the staff were great, but others were barely out of high school and being left in a room with a bunch of toddlers - which is not fair on them. We were sold on the idea that there were "sports teachers"... this turned to be two men who doubled as nursery teachers to "make up the numbers". Everyday they would tell me my daughter "ate everything" - everyday - anyone with a toddler knows that is impossible. She would then get home and eat like she has never been fed. Everyday my daughter asked not to go. She still cries when walk past the place. Vindicating our decision to move her. We moved our daughter to The Hub and she has not looked back. We have seen a complete behaviour change and she is much happier in the mornings. My message to the management is to not treat parents like they are stupid. Parents talk. Toddlers too. My message to parents is to trust your instincts.

Gave 3 because not used long yet and only on taster sessions...but leaving a chair to prop open the door to garden area is a dangerous habit and against all health and safety and is a safeguarding issue.. and when I mentioned it I was told it was so they can hear the 1yr old plus outside.. at one point a little one sat on the chair between the very heavy door and frame!..not impressed at all...this was at 4.15pm when kne person was busy tidying up and cleaning leaving babies crying....
