About this day nursery

Get Set Play is a childcare provider in Portsmouth which operates five days a week during school holidays, from 8am to 4pm. The provider aims for children to be happy and motivated, building on their skills through play. To support children’s individual needs, daily plans and routines are adapted, and an effective key-person system is in place to support their emotional well-being.

Ofsted inspected the setting in February 2023 and gave it an overall rating of Good. The inspector reported that the provider has a secure understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. Children have the opportunity to be physically active during the day, which includes playing outdoors in a park where they are taught about staying safe. The provider was also noted to have a good understanding of how to promote positive behaviour.

What it's like

The provider has a secure understanding of her responsibility as the designated safeguarding lead and ensures staff are suitable and confident to keep children safe. She has clear aims for children to be happy, motivated and build on their skills through play, adapting plans to meet individual needs. The provider is reflective and encourages staff to continually develop and improve the club for children.
