Gillitots Day Nursery, established in 2007, operates from Monday to Friday, 8am until 6pm, all year round, catering for children aged 1 to 4 years. " Children are welcomed by enthusiastic and dedicated staff and eagerly engage with a wide range of activities.
The nursery provides a stimulating environment, including well-resourced garden areas where children can confidently explore and develop their physical skills. Older children, under close supervision, even learn to use real tools, displaying an impressive awareness of safety.
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive excellent support, with staff collaborating closely with external agencies to ensure they make good progress. The curriculum encourages children to explain their thinking, helping staff to tailor learning experiences effectively.
Staff are adept at identifying and addressing any emerging gaps in development, ensuring all children make good progress. Children are encouraged to be independent, fostering a "can-do attitude" towards their learning, from babies confidently selecting toys to preschoolers problem-solving collaboratively.
A love of stories and songs is nurtured, with children eagerly sharing books and recalling previous experiences, such as the Jubilee celebrations.
