About this day nursery

30pm, Monday to Friday, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Inspected by Ofsted on 5th January 2023 and rated as 'Good', the nursery ensures children settle quickly and form close bonds with staff, who know them well.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on communication and language, with children confidently chatting to staff and engaging in pleasant conversations over mealtimes. The setting encourages critical thinking skills, for example, by prompting children to make predictions about seeds they find in an apple core.

The inspiring and sequenced curriculum builds upon children's existing knowledge, supporting their progress. Dedicated support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is provided by a well-trained SENCo, who works with other professionals for early identification and assistance.

Individual target plans are created for all children with SEND, and a designated sensory room offers daily one-to-one time with the SENCo. Children make regular trips into the local community, visiting parks to develop physical skills by chasing bubbles, and going to the post office to mail letters they have written.

These real-life experiences strengthen their knowledge, develop early writing skills, and are topics children discuss at home with their parents.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/ or disabilities (SEND) are well supported. The well-trained special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) works well with other professionals to ensure children get early identification and help. All children with SEND have an individual target plan, which is shared with staff. There is a designated sensory room for children to have daily one-to-one time with the SENCo, ensuring they get focused support and make good progress with their learning.

Outdoor space

Children make regular trips out into the local community. They have fun as they use nets to chase and pop bubbles in the nearby park, building on their physical skills. Staff carefully consider the risks they might face when taking children on outings and teach children about road safety. Staff walk ahead to check there are no dangers as they enter the park.

I don't normally leave reviews, however felt it was so important especially when other parents are considering nursery for their children. My son Danyal was initially really upset and would always cry. The staff at Golden Stars nursery helped him to settle in really well. They were very friendly, proactive and my son started to feel at ease with him. The golden moments captured and shared on blossom are a testament to his my son enjoys the nursery and is even standing by the door on a Saturday morning eager to go :-)

Couldn’t recommend this nursery enough. They have made my son feel very welcome given his needs (my son is autistic and non-verbal). He is always excited when arriving at nursery and thats how I know they are doing a great job with him and other children. The staff feel more like a family than just a group of staff. Very professional, caring and welcoming. Happy parent here.

I can't say enough positive things about my sons' experience at this nursery. The staff are not only informative and professional but also create a warm, homely atmosphere that instantly puts my children at ease. The progress my sons have made is remarkable, thanks to the excellent support provided. One standout aspect is their commitment to ensuring children finish their meals – a refreshing departure from other nurseries. The attention to individual needs, especially during challenging days with my eldest, speaks volumes about their dedication. Additionally, the focus on toilet training has been incredibly helpful. I appreciate the daily walks, a great permission-based activity that my little ones absolutely love. It's a joy to see them thriving in such a nurturing environment. Highly recommend!
