About this day nursery

Good Manors Day Nurseries Ltd, operating since 2004 in Fareham, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years, following the EYFS curriculum. The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30, all year round.

The setting has a capacity for 63 children and has consistently met safeguarding standards. The nursery has an inclusive environment, with staff making necessary adaptations to routines and activities to ensure all children can access their learning.

Leaders ensure additional funding is purposefully used, such as buying individual bags to help children regulate their emotions. While children are lovingly greeted and quickly engage in activities, there are some weaknesses in curriculum design that impact children's progress and staff confidence, particularly in mathematics and communication and language.

However, children with SEND receive targeted support and make individual progress, with staff attending regular training like Makaton to enhance communication skills. The nursery also makes good use of outdoor spaces for physical development, with plans to create allotments for children to grow produce, aligning with their sustainability initiative.

Parents speak positively about the support their children receive and its impact on their health and progress.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive targeted support and make individual progress as they broaden their communication skills. Staff attend regular training, such as Makaton training, to help them improve their skills and support children's communication. Leaders use additional funding to buy items specific to children's interests, such as individual bags to help children regulate their emotions.

Outdoor space

Staff make good use of outdoor spaces to help children improve their strength and coordination. Children love being outside in all weather, and staff ensure they are dressed appropriately. Leaders plan to turn a separate area into allotments where children can grow their own fruit and vegetables, aligning with their sustainability initiative.

I went to Millar Drive as support recently and the team were incredibly welcoming. They showed me round the rooms and they were very approachable. The team were so kind and asked questions to get to know me. It was lovely to see a new setting with such positive and friendly staff that had brilliant interactions with the children! I’d highly recommend this nursery to families who are looking for childcare!

A wonderful, welcoming nursery. From the greeting at the door to the welcome from the team going from room to room. Staff are engaged with children in their play and activities both indoors and outdoors supporting their learning and development. Confident, curious children approached and engaged in conversations with me and wanted to share what they were doing. A lovely visit and I would recommend this nursery.

An excellent nursery with happy, engaged children. I visited this nursery and was made to feel like a guest in a very happy home. Children were so well cared for and given lots of opportunities for learning and play in the setting and in their garden. I was even given a taste of lunch which was delicious! I would recommend this nursery.

Extraordinary nursery. Not only absolutely amazing with my youngest, but also my eldest who doesn’t go to the nursery. All the staff go above and beyond for my child and they have fantastic excursions and experiences. They do fantastic activities with them on a daily basis.
