Little Munchkins Nursery, established in 2004, is dedicated to fostering curiosity and supporting children through their developmental milestones. The nursery focuses on building confidence, encouraging independence, and nurturing resilience in young learners.

Through a play-based curriculum and engaging activities, Little Munchkins aims to cultivate inquisitive, enlightened, and social individuals. The setting provides a safe and supportive environment with strict child protection policies and seamless transitions to feeder schools.

They offer stimulating indoor and outdoor facilities, including a large outdoor area with astro-turf, a huge sandpit, and various play equipment. The nursery also utilises Tapestry, a secure online journal, to keep parents informed about their child's progress and learning journey.

Little Munchkins caters to children aged 18 months to 5 years, providing year-round care for working parents from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. The nursery prides itself on being fully inclusive, with wheelchair access and a dedicated SENCo to support children with special educational needs, actively ensuring EHCPs are in place before school entry.

Despite this, staff are positive role models, encouraging good behaviour and helping children resolve conflicts, aiding their understanding of emotions and behavioral expectations.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), still do not have access to learning that is well planned or sequenced. This does not meet their individual needs or build on skills they have already learned. Leaders have effective arrangements in place to identify and seek appropriate intervention for children with SEND. They understand the importance of partnership working with parents and other professionals to support continuity of care.

Outdoor space

Staff provide a range of opportunities for children to develop their physical skills. For instance, children manoeuvre their whole bodies, such as when running, jumping and squatting. This supports their core muscle development.

My 2 year old doesn't see this as nursery, she calls it their house instead, as if she's going to her aunty or uncles. And that's exactly how it feels. The kids aren't another number in a setting, they're cared for like family.

My daughter was due to start little munchkins and was told arrangements would be made for settling in sessions, making a point that to leave it with them and they would be in contact closer to the time, I paid an admin fee the same day as handing in the registration form, had no contact at all in regards to settling in sessions before her start date. I had to contact them 2 days before her starting and stated she wasn’t going to attend due to this, after requesting my admin fee back I was told no. Iv found the setting to be unprofessional and not organised at all. Wouldn’t like the thought of my child attending here

My boy was here after few days I take him home one day with his face full of blood..another kid made his face like this with his nails and hands.staff said .. sorry is the other kid fault..never again.

Fantastic my daughter has done so well there and the staff are amazing very supporting with toilet training and speech and everything would strongly recommend them
