Leaders and staff foster an inclusive environment where all children are valued and supported, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and those who speak English as an additional language. The nursery prides itself on its diversity, with families from many cultures and languages.
Staff actively learn key words and phrases in children’s home languages to ensure correct pronunciation and better support EAL children. The setting provides valuable outdoor learning experiences, such as using outdoor resources to practice social and language skills, and an increased focus on physical development in the outdoor area.
Despite strong safeguarding practices and high-quality staff interactions, the nursery is working on improving opportunities for children to develop independence in self-care routines.

Inclusion & environment
Leaders consistently promote and role model an inclusive approach to all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Staff develop supportive relationships with parents and carers and are proactive in their work with other professionals to ensure children's needs are met. Children's individual needs are well planned for, and children with vulnerabilities make positive strides in their development.
Staff utilise the outdoor area well to help children practise turn-taking and sharing skills. An increased focus on supporting physical development has supported children to learn the value of movement and exercise, particularly in the outdoor area. Toddlers use outdoor resources to practice social and language skills.
The nursery is described as 'international' with families representing many cultures and languages. Staff learn key words and phrases in children's home languages and check pronunciation with parents to support children who speak English as an additional language.
Our little one started at Gosforth nursery few weeks ago and has settled amazingly well. He goes in with a smile on his face and comes out with one too. This has made working so much easier knowing he’s happy there. The activities he does each day are fulfilling and fun and he loves participating in them. The daily updates and pictures we receive via the app are amazing and puts our mind at rest. The communication and admin side of the nursery is also great. Thanks team
Read on GoogleMy son started to go there 6 months ago ago when he was just 14 months old. He is very clingy/attaching child but he settled down and developed a very strong relationship with one of the Key workers. He named her by a name from his own and still talking about her. It was a bit tough transition from daises room toddler room but he got there and now he is calling all the staff by their name and even naming his friends. He is thriving very well and picking up more English words as English isn’t our first language. I like how this nursery is a small lovely family and I hope it won’t change forever.
Read on GoogleOur 10 month old Daughter has been attending Gosforth nursery for two weeks now, she has settled straight away. We receive daily observations and updates as to what she has been doing, how she has eaten and slept. All of the staff are really friendly, professional and approachable, John is fantastic and very knowledgeable. We are so happy to leave our daughter in their wonderful care.
Read on GoogleMy daughter went here and I can’t thank the staff enough for how amazing they were with her. Only being young she was very teary and apprehensive but she was constantly shown lots of love and support! If ur looking for a lovely family run personal experience nursery not overrun with kids then this is defo the place to go!
Read on GoogleMy little one has recently started at Gosforth Nursery. A new environment and teething means it hasnt been the smoothest start, but the nursery have been fantastic; they have been worked really hard to work out what cheers my little one up and put up with endless phonecalls from me checking in. 3 weeks later you can see that hard work paying off and little one settling more each time they go.
