Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff are fluent in using sign language when they talk to children across the whole setting. The youngest children are competent in using signs to communicate 'please' and 'thank you'. This helps all children to develop good speech and language skills.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy plenty of fresh air and physical exercise. There are ample opportunities for children to strengthen their muscles. Babies use equipment to pull themselves up into a standing position, toddlers enjoy chasing bubbles and learning to ride bikes, and older children test their physical abilities on balancing and climbing equipment.

EAL / language support

Children who speak English as an additional language receive the support they need. For example, staff learn key words in various languages. This helps children to feel welcome from when they join the nursery.

Green Roots has been an amazing nursery for our son. His confidence has grown and he has made great bonds with the staff, especially his key worker. He is learning so much in preschool and surprises me all the time with things he knows. He genuinely loves going and is sometimes sad to go home with Mummy! The food menu is superb and I am pleased with the variety and my little one eats everything when there! Overall a great nursery and I would thoroughly recommend it!

Green Roots Nursery has proven to be the perfect setting for our son who has attended the nursery for over two years now. Throughout that time, the team have consistently provided outstanding care for our son at each stage. Key practitioners have always taken the time to build a great relationship with our son and as a result he absolutely loves his time at the nursery. All the staff are equally engaging with parents as they are with the children, and this standard of care is reflected through the happiness I see each day when I collect my son from nursery. The practitioners provide useful daily feedback about how each day has gone and quarterly developmental updates. The team provided excellent support with potty training recently and I cannot thank them enough for this. The garden space is great for little ones who love being outdoors and the daily activities are varied and imaginative. The food is freshly prepared daily and is both tasty and nutritious. The nursery's management approach of COVID over the past year has been fantastic with robust operating procedures in place together with excellent communication and updates at each stage. I cannot recommend Green Roots highly enough based on my experience and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you for Gemma and the team for providing such an outstanding setting.

We have had Green Roots in our life's now for over 5 years, our first won attend not long after it opened and it was clear from the start that he was going to be very happy here. The staff are amazing and give the children all the care and love in the world, as well as providing the most fantastic environment for them to learn and grow. Our second son has been here for over a year and half and again I cannot fault the experience that he is having, both my boys settled quickly and have flourished at Green roots.

Green Roots was recommended to me by a few friends of mine who’s children and been there and I’m so glad it was, as there are not enough wonderful things to say about the place. Our little boy is absolutely thriving and that’s down to the support and time that the staff are giving him. He loves his nursery days, the activities they do are so varied and imaginative, the food excellent and he loves using the garden to run around and let off some energy. He has such a great relationship with not only his key worker and the other adults in that room but also those from the past rooms he’s been in, he’s so excited when he sees them all. Can’t thank the staff enough as I know he’s in excellent hands and loving it!
