About this day nursery

Greenfields Day Nursery, established in 1993, operates from Monday to Friday, catering to children aged 1 to 10 years. The setting opens from 8 am to 6 pm all year round, except for two weeks in the summer and one week at Christmas.

Ofsted rated the nursery "Good" in its latest inspection on March 3, 2025. The nursery implements a curriculum with a strong focus on communication and language skills, using simple words and gestures for younger children and those learning English as an additional language, and helping older children explore words with multiple meanings.

Children have numerous opportunities for both indoor and outdoor learning, with the curriculum supporting their development in both environments. Greenfields Day Nursery effectively supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

The staff identifies and implements individual targets, and other professionals are invited to observe and interact with children. Additional funding is used effectively, including providing one-to-one support.

The nursery fosters a love of books; stories are deeply embedded in daily activities to support language and literacy, and children can borrow books to take home. Staff are committed to maintaining a safe environment and involving children in this responsibility, encouraging them to help with tidying.

Additionally, the management team supports staff through in-house professional development, particularly concerning children's behaviour, and children are guided to understand and express their feelings and emotions.
