Our ethos

Since we first opened in January 1989 with only a few team members and a handful of children, we have always maintained a strong family ethos, a home-from-home feel. It is something we believe to be at the heart of Halesfield Day Nursery and vital to our setting. We have a strong emphasis on building a healthy team as we believe that: Happy Team = Happy Children = Happy Families. It is not rocket science, but we try our best to create a setting in which our team know that they are valued and supported, and not just there to do a 'job'. A healthy, happy team creates a healthy, happy nursery environment and a positive friendly atmosphere for the children to flourish in.

What it's like

Children are happy to attend and form strong bonds with the staff. They engage in their learning and have access to a range of experiences to enhance their learning, such as weekly forest school sessions, visits from a 'farm on wheels', and weekly music workshops. Staff have high expectations for children's learning and ensure a well-sequenced curriculum that covers all areas of learning.

Pricing & funding

Charges are structured around full day, short day, morning, or afternoon sessions. Funded places are offered for two, three, and four-year-olds, with term-time only bookings incurring an additional fee and funded hours subject to consumable charges.
