The First For Childcare team receives continuous training and support, exceeding government safeguarding requirements, to ensure children's safety and enjoyment. They follow the "MORE" childcare approach, centring on Motivation, Opportunities, Relationships, and Environment, to foster confident and developing children who are well-prepared for their transition to school.

With over a decade of experience, the group aims to offer the best nursery care, allowing children to thrive and express themselves in a nurturing atmosphere.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is outstanding. Staff ensure that activities are inclusive for everyone. Calming spaces and sensory activities enable children to self-regulate their own feelings and behaviours well. Staff share strategies and resources with parents so that the children can make the best possible progress.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy daily outdoor activities that promote learning and development. Experiences such as beach visits and forest school sessions enrich their understanding of the world. Children practise putting on wetsuits and boots for outdoor play.

EAL / language support

Staff have high ambitions for all children. Children who speak English as an additional language benefit from tailored support programmes and make excellent progress. Staff value diversity and recognise each child's uniqueness. They help children to learn about differences in families. Staff gather information from parents when children first start, such as key words in their home language. They plan meaningful activities and events to learn about different cultures, such as the Hindu festival 'Holi'.
