Inclusion & environment
Staff have high expectations of all children and support them to make good progress, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff support children who have SEND well, liaising closely with professionals like speech and language therapists to implement consistent strategies, including visual prompts. The manager and staff use additional funding to support individual needs effectively, purchasing equipment like "now and next" boards to help children develop understanding and communication.
Children of all ages gain good physical skills and learn to move in different ways. They confidently and safely use age-appropriate climbing and balancing equipment, including building and negotiating obstacles like balancing on planks of wood and crates safely.
My son just started Hedgehogs this week and honestly the bad reviews on here are complete nonsense. I visited a number of nurseries before choosing where to send my boy and this one by far was the cosiest homely environment out of them all it was a complete no brainer for us when we left our visit we had our hearts set on it. The sign up was super thorough (as it should be) and Laura guided me through it all. This is the only setting I’ve visited that allows you to go in and settle your child down before leaving, it’s the only one that I felt really takes you into consideration around the care of your child whilst they are there. My Sonny has settled amazingly this week, his key worker Molly has been absolutely brilliant with him, everything we could have wished for and more. I can’t fault a single person here they’re all outstanding!
Read on GoogleWould rate 0 if I could. This nursery put me through hell and still is! Not afraid to talk about this but I am currently going through court with my child’s father and they thought it would be funny to lie about me in their “records of concern”. I gave them a full bag of clothing, asthma pumps, shoes, painting bib and they lost it. One of their staff pushed my son over outside and he had bruising. I know they will delete this but I am posting this so no one takes their child there again!
Read on GoogleMy son has absolutely loved his time at Hedgehogs Hoo, every single staff member has been amazing and fully informed about his day. His key worker, Leah, is everything we would have wanted in a key worker - and it’s clear that she loves spending time with Benjamin too! Thank you so much for a great start to Hedgehogs, and we can’t wait to see how Benjamin will grow.
Read on GoogleLovely nursery, amazing key workers and most important I have a very happy boy going into nursery! Cannot believe how much he has developed since being in this environment and excited to see his journey continue with Hedgehogs. Thank you Laura & the team for your amazing work
Read on GoogleWhen it comes to enrolling your child into a nursery you always get shown just how amazing the placement is, how well your child will do there, meeting new children and making lots of friends. But little do you know, when you sign up to this nursery, you're signing your child up to a nursery that can't even manage its own Management or staff! But we're ment to trust sending our children into an environment like that? Reading the Ofsted report from 2023 says alot about how this nursery manages itself, the management can't be bothered, so why should it's staff. Personally if you want whats best for your children, don't send them here! Whats even funnier is when the nursery has your review removed, so you have to then rewrite it. How's the saying go? Actions speak louder than words? Definitely does now 👎
