Hillside Day Nursery is dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and early education, fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for each child's growth and development. The nursery offers a comprehensive approach to learning, utilising the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to tailor plans to individual needs.
Each child is assigned a Key Person who serves as the primary point of contact, building trusting relationships with both the child and their family. The nursery implements an online learning diary system to document each child's journey, which parents can access and contribute to at any time.
Freshly prepared, nutritious meals are offered on-site by a dedicated chef. Hillside Day Nursery is equipped with distinct areas for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with outdoor gardens and dedicated 'forest' play areas for unique outdoor learning experiences and weekly Forest School sessions.
The nursery is also committed to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) on staff and trained professionals who use Makaton across the nursery. They work closely with parents and other professionals to create individual support plans and ensure a consistent approach to care and education.
The nursery boasts two sites, both within walking distance of each other in Kingswood, Bristol.

Inclusion & environment
The special educational needs coordinator supports staff and works closely with parents and other professionals to identify, plan and coordinate support for children who may need extra help.
Children develop good physical skills, inside and outdoors. They have many opportunities to be physically active using the spacious nursery garden, playing excitedly with a brightly coloured parachute. Children also play imaginatively in the mud kitchen, filling tins with soil mixture and stirring with real kitchen utensils.
Our son has been attending Hillside for almost 1 year now and it's been one of best decisions we made. All of the staff are lovely and the facilities are extremely good. We know he is very good hands. I would have no hesitation in recommending.
