Holly Bank Nursery, part of Portland Nurseries, is situated in a tranquil, tree-lined area of Edgerton. It prides itself on a warm and inviting atmosphere with bright, spacious rooms and high-quality play resources, many crafted from sustainable natural materials.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, adopting a Forest School approach within its garden. Children have daily opportunities to engage with nature, exploring a mud kitchen, a natural willow den, planting vegetables and flowers, picking apples from fruit trees, investigating wildlife, and building dens.

The outdoor space also features sandpits and climbing apparatus. The dedicated and experienced staff team provides guidance and nurturing throughout each child's learning journey, with a key person ensuring parents are regularly informed and involved in their child's development.

Holly Bank is committed to inclusivity, offering expert support for children with additional needs through its SENCO-trained staff. The nursery fosters a strong community spirit, providing various opportunities for families to participate in stay-and-play sessions, volunteering, charity events, and parent evenings, all aimed at helping children reach their full potential.

They cater to children from 12 weeks to 5 years, operating 51 weeks a year with extended hours from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for the most disadvantaged children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, is incredibly well targeted.

Outdoor space

Children delight in the wonder of nature as they take part in forest-school sessions, making wooden bird boxes and nests. Staff skilfully support children's physical development, helping younger children to safely climb steps in the outdoor play area and older children to climb on climbing frames.
