Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive good support to meet their needs. Additional funding is used well. Staff ensure that they share any concerns with parents about gaps in children's progress and work with external agencies where needed.

Outdoor space

Staff plan an extensive range of activities for children to take part in, particularly in the large garden. Children really enjoy the opportunity to splash in the paddling pool to help keep themselves cool on warmer days. Staff communicate and deploy themselves well across the garden to provide good support for children.

I attended the nursery in person to enquire about availability and to request a tour. I was met with a frosty and abrupt reception. When I asked about spaces, I was told there was no availability until September 2026, which I made clear was not an issue for me. Despite this, I was then told—rather dismissively—that I should send an email because they were busy, and that I “couldn’t just come around.” At no point was I asked the ages of my children, our childcare needs, or any follow-up questions whatsoever. There was no attempt to engage, understand, or show even a basic level of interest. This interaction raises a fundamental concern: why would a parent choose to place their child in a setting that demonstrates such a clear lack of customer service, professionalism, or genuine care at the very first point of contact? First impressions matter—particularly in early years education, where trust, warmth, communication, and attentiveness are essential. If these qualities are absent during an initial enquiry, it naturally calls into question the culture, values, and level of care within the setting itself.
