Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents of SEND children praise how much their children have developed since they have been attending.
They feel that the manager and staff go above and beyond to not only support their children, but also the wider family.
The nursery comes highly recommended by families.
Inclusion & environment
Children's ages and stages of development, and their special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are now planned for and taken into account more effectively. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) has good links with families and other professionals. The nursery is inclusive and meets the care needs of all the children.
Older children enjoy being outdoors and explore all that it has to offer, including a range of resources to help develop their gross motor skills. Babies have their own dedicated area outside so that they can explore safely.
Amazing nursery! Both my sons have been and one still attends! Facilities are clean and new and good quality! Love the feedback via the app, email and in person! The team seem to love their jobs and not just their to work! We feel our boys are loved and genuinely cared for :) Ongoing support even for my eldest who struggled at first transitioning into primary school - advice and support were offered to us! Always looking out for parents not just the children! Overall an amazing nursery and I'm so happy to be apart of the Owl and Bear family!
Read on GoogleMy little boy has been going to Owl and Bear for just over a year and he absolutely loves it, he loves all of the staff and always walks in with a smile and walks out with a smile. I like the app updates and regular parents evenings to know how he is doing and always learning so much!
Read on GoogleMy child has been attending this nursery over a year now. All the staff are lovely and they’re very good at dealing with any concerns or worries. They have regular parents evenings which I love being able to understand how my child is developing. They are good at sharing information via email, an app and during drop off and pick up with notice boards. My child seems to have settled very quickly when she first started and now enjoys going to nursery!
Read on GoogleI would apply more stars if it were possible. I Have had an excellent experience with this nursery. Staff are professional, friendly and very knowledgable. I have noticed that the nursery has had a positive influence on my infant. Management and staff are genuinely passionate about the work that they do and the learning and development of children. I am kept well informed and my infant appears content within all areas of nursery space. I feel at ease and have peace of mind that my infant is safe and happy in their care.
Read on GoogleMy daughter previously attended Owl and Bear in Eltham, which abruptly closed without notice. This closure caused significant disruption for parents and children, forcing them to scramble for alternative childcare. It's important to note that the nursery had received a poor Ofsted report for an extended period. Unfortunately, the owner blamed staff departures for the closure, while failing to acknowledge the role of her own management. We also noticed a decline in the quality of care from the staff in the months leading up to the closure. When picking up my daughter, staff interactions were brief and uninformative, which caused us concern. Disappointingly, we were informed that there wouldn't be any refunds offered despite the inconvenience caused by the nursery's closure. This situation reflects poorly on the entire Owl and Bear company, and I would strongly advise parents to consider alternative childcare providers
