About this day nursery

Hopscotch Corner was established by Helen and Sharon, who sought to create a childcare environment distinct from existing local options. Their vision was centred on providing children with rich "everyday experiences," drawing inspiration from their own childhoods.

This philosophy emphasises outdoor exploration, practical activities like shopping and cooking, and engaging forest school sessions, all designed to enhance learning. The nursery aims to deliver exceptional individualised childcare that complements a child's home life, allowing them to develop and learn at their own pace.

This approach meticulously prepares children for their transition to school, with staff working closely with key children to address all areas of their learning and development. In September 2023, Hopscotch Corner expanded its operations by taking over Hilltops Pre School in Ripponden.

The "Hopscotch Explorers" programme, for children aged 2 and above, further champions outdoor learning, providing children with explorer backpacks for activities such as den building, hill walking, and library visits to deepen their understanding of the world. Key Workers collaborate with parents to monitor developmental milestones, ensuring an engaging and exciting learning journey for every child.

After outdoor adventures, explorers join the school-aged children at the out-of-school club.
