The setting promotes a "can-do" attitude, encouraging children to take pride in their achievements, such as confidently navigating stairs or managing their own coats. The nursery has a strong focus on inclusion, with staff actively identifying and meeting individual needs, particularly for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Inclusion & environment
Leaders act decisively to identify and meet the individual needs of all children, using screening tools to identify potential delays and adapting teaching to close learning gaps. The special educational needs coordinator uses precise tracking for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) to establish clear and achievable developmental steps.
Leaders provide suitable outdoor areas where children explore freely, with toddlers developing physical confidence by rolling hoops down hills and navigating uneven terrain. Staff foster meaningful learning opportunities outdoors, such as minibeast hunts.
Communication and language skills are well-supported across the setting, with staff introducing new vocabulary and encouraging children to discuss their favourite fruits to broaden their communication skills.
Ashbourne Day Nursery at Greetland is an amazing setting! My little boy has been attending for just over a year, and in that time he has learnt so much and continues to develop beautifully. He’s always so happy there and greets every day with a big smile. The staff are all wonderful—so friendly, caring, and welcoming. I felt completely at ease returning to work, knowing he was in such good hands. They’re also incredibly accommodating, especially when I’ve needed to add an extra day at short notice. I would absolutely recommend Ashbourne Day Nursery to anyone looking for excellent childcare!
Read on GoogleAshbourne Day Nursery has been absolutely wonderful for our daughter. She attends four days a week and genuinely loves going in every morning. The environment is warm, welcoming, and very clean its so well-organised. A special mention has to go to her key worker, Lauren, who is just amazing. She is caring, attentive, and always goes the extra mile to make sure our daughter feels safe, supported, and happy. We can clearly see how much she has grown in confidence and independence since starting here. The other members of staff who also very appreciated Laura, sue, kath Tracey, tia, Joanne malika, keep up your hard work 💪 ❤️ We’re so grateful to the whole team at Ashbourne Day Nursery — highly recommend!
