Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, part of Nunthorpe Nurseries Group, offers dedicated childcare in Thornaby. Established in 1989, the group has expanded to nine nurseries across the Tees Valley, collectively caring for over 700 children.
The Ingleby Barwick branch prides itself on a committed, professional team trained in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), aiming to provide outstanding childcare. The nursery fosters strong relationships with both parents and children, utilising a key person system to ensure activities are stimulating and fun, catering to individual learning needs.
With an excellent local reputation, the nursery focuses on inspiring children's development in all learning areas to ensure they have the best possible start in life. The nursery provides a variety of activities and facilities for different age groups, including a baby room with a sensory room, tweenies with a sleeping room, and a preschool.
It has received an "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted and offers virtual tours. The nursery also provides additional activities such as a "Funky Feet" session for preschool-aged children focusing on sports and physical activities, a breakfast club, an after-school club, and a holiday club during school breaks.

SEND provision
The manager ensures the nursery is inclusive and welcomes all children, aiming for the best possible progress. She liaises with and refers to external professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to help children catch up in their development.
Outdoor space
Children have lots of opportunities to develop their physical skills. All children play outdoors in the fresh air each day, investigating and exploring, such as babies in a sandpit and older children with autumn-themed natural resources.
