Ivybridge Pre-School, part of the Ivybridge & Cornwood Pre-Schools group, offers childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years old, with additional wrap-around care extending to children up to 11 years old. This family-run business, owned by a mother-daughter duo Nicola and Melanie, has been dedicated to providing high-quality early education since 1988, with Ivybridge Pre-School establishing its own site at Erme Primary School in 2011.
The nursery prides itself on offering diverse activities within a fun learning environment that aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. They operate from spacious, bright rooms that have sole access for the children, accommodating up to 20 children daily at Ivybridge.
The curriculum incorporates weekly learning themes and engaging activities to ensure an enjoyable and motivating learning experience. Additionally, the pre-school provides healthy snacks free of charge, with the option of cooked dinners from the adjoining primary schools for an extra fee.
Both Ivybridge and Cornwood locations have access to outdoor play areas, which are utilised daily. ' They are Ofsted inspected and registered on the Early Years Register and the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register.
Our ethos
We strive to create a happy Pre-School family, learning, achieving, growing, and developing together every day.
What it's like
Children at Ivybridge Pre-School are happy and quickly join in play, forming warm relationships with their key person and friends. They learn routines, develop independence, and engage in shared activities like constructing and making cards. Older children learn to play games, take turns, and recognise letter sounds, while staff introduce new vocabulary based on observations like the weather.
