Little Orchard Montessori Nurseries aims to cultivate a nurturing and engaging environment where children can freely explore their interests and develop at their individual pace. The nursery proudly employs the highly-regarded Montessori Method, ensuring that each child's unique potential is recognised and fostered.
With several locations in Devon, the nurseries are designed to be intimate enough to offer a personalised approach to development, while also being large enough to facilitate socialisation and the learning of essential social skills. They provide a comprehensive daily experience, including freshly prepared, hot meals from locally sourced and organic ingredients, with children often involved in the preparation process.
The nurseries operate 51 weeks a year, closing only for bank holidays and a short period over Christmas and New Year. They also offer breakfast and after-school clubs for older children.
Our ethos

We use the highly acclaimed Montessori Method to ensure we bring out the very best in every child. Our settings are full of interesting things to do and your child is given the freedom to express what interests them.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) also develop exceptionally well from their starting points. Parents talk about how much support the nursery offers, such as support groups for children with SEND that the nursery has implemented.
Children have strong opportunities to be physically active indoors and outdoors. Outside, children skilfully balance on 'slack lines'. Younger children carefully hold onto the upper rope and balance carefully along the bottom section. Older children demonstrate highly impressive gymnastics, by hanging upside down, wrapping their arms and legs around the 'lines'.
I honestly cannot recommend this nursery enough. The staff are absolutely phenomenal, are so welcoming to parents and children. I was welcomed in to look around the nursery on my first visit and was met with a calm, welcoming and fun environment. There is so much variety of toys and resources available, the space is beautiful. My little boy was so emotional on starting and the staff have really encouraged his confidence and will now leave me at the door to go in with staff and I am always greeted with a big smile and lots of stories of what he has done through the day. It is amazing that they use an app and I love being able to see what he is up to, book extra sessions and keep an eye on his account.
