About this day nursery

Jesters Nursery offers comprehensive childcare across three locations in Chelmsford: Beaulieu, Bicknacre, and Danbury. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), Jesters operates with a social purpose, aiming to provide impactful and reasonably priced childcare while ensuring the business remains sustainable.

The Beaulieu setting, established in 2018, is strategically located next to The Beaulieu Park School and collaborates with various professionals to foster a supportive environment for children's growth. It features dedicated rooms such as the "Fawns Room" for babies, the "Squirrel's Room" for toddlers, and a "Deer Pre-School Classroom" with a unique School Readiness Programme for older children transitioning to school.

The Beaulieu branch received a "GOOD" rating from Ofsted in December 2021, highlighting the management team's ambition, children's engagement in stimulating learning environments, responsiveness of staff to babies' inquisitiveness, strong emphasis on language development, and effective support for children's behavioral regulation. The nursery encourages interested parents to contact them for more information or to book a visit.

Jesters is an excellent nursery, I highly recommend this setting for anyone looking. I searched for ages for a nursery that made me feel comfortable when I was viewing and I knew once I left jesters this was the place my daughter should go to. The activities are excellent, my daughter is never bored. She has great support from all of the lovely ladies who work there and I know they truly care about her and her needs. The app to check in on my daughter throughout the day is priceless and gives me peace of mind. If you want a reliable, happy and fun nursery for your child this is the place to be. Thank you Jesters.

My daughter goes to this nursery, and she always has a lovely time, as well as taking part in the activities. Socialising with the other children has been great for her. I love the tapestry as well, which is fantastic for seeing her and what she is getting up too ! The staff are absolutely wonderful, they are so helpful about anything to do with my daughter. The parents evening as well, is great and so informative about every thing going on with her and her development. Well recommended nursary.

Excellent nursery, both my children attend and love it. Small enough that the staff know you and your children really well but big enough that they have access to lots of activities. Great outdoor space, and always kept up to date with what they are doing through an app.

My daughter initially attended a different local nursery where she was described as very shy and didn’t mix with all the children and would either play alone or with just one other child. She then started at jesters which was a small nursery but which had the most wonderful staff, the reports I received back from jesters where a world apart from the nursery she had been at for several years. She was happy confident making up her own games and teaching the others. I loved the fact that it was mixed ages and I think it really helped them to interact with children of all ages and to learn patience and compassion. Loved the garden and the fact they would grow vegetables etc.

I have used Jesters for after school and holiday care for my son and he has loved it from reception age. There are so many activities for primary school children whether they are in reception or year 6. It's great to see it is fully accessible to all children of all abilities. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
