Our ethos

Play isn’t just fun – it is fundamental to a child’s development. Early Years practice should be rooted in play-based learning, recognising that children are natural explorers who learn best by doing, discovering, and interacting with their world. Through engaging, hands-on activities, children develop crucial cognitive skills like problem-solving and critical thinking, while also nurturing their creativity and imagination. Play provides the perfect environment for building essential social and emotional skills, such as sharing, cooperation, and empathy, and fosters strong language and communication abilities. From imaginative role-playing to active outdoor adventures, every moment of play is a valuable learning opportunity, building a strong foundation for children’s future success and a lifelong love of learning.

We have had a very positive experience with Kaidrums, and a lot of this is thanks to the nursery manager, Debbie. From the start, Debbie has been kind, understanding, and polite, which really helped both me and my son. My son initially found it difficult to adjust to nursery as he had been at home with me for over two years and nine months. With the patience and support of the staff, he has settled in beautifully. He is learning every day and is now genuinely excited to go to nursery. After being ill and away for about two weeks, I was amazed to see how excited he was to return. As soon as we reached the nursery gate, he happily jumped out of the car to go in. For a child who usually prefers to stay with me and his dad, this meant so much to see. Debbie has been amazing, and I would also like to thank the rest of the staff, especially Sam for their care and support. Knowing my child is happy and settled gives me complete peace of mind, and I am truly grateful.

My son joined Kai Drums in October 2024 after a poor experience at his previous nursery. From his first settling in session he has absolutely loved it here, he settled straight away, he loves the staff and all his friends. He has come on leaps and bounds since being here and Debbie has been extremely kind and helpful since our first meeting where she helped me move him there from his previous nursery mid term! Haven't got a bad word to say about the nursery or the staff, they're all lovely and care so much about all of the kids!

Extremely happy with the nursery. My son is going there from last 1.5 years. He is learning new things and songs. He is also learning french and spanish. They have got alot of activities to keep them busy. Debbie and her team has helped him alot in potty training him. He loves going to the nursery and stay happy there and comes back happy.

2 of my 3 kids attend KaiDrums for nursery and wrap around care. My daughter used to also attend for nursery too. They both love it and really look forward to going. The nursery staff really do put their heart and soul in to the children. The experiences and learning opportunities the children have are amazing.

⸻ KaiDrums has been nothing short of extraordinary for our family. Debbie has been a Godsend for our family. Sam, Natalie and the entire team are truly one of a kind. Our autistic son joined KaiDrums when he was just 3 years old. He is now 8 — and still insists on going. That alone says more than any review ever could. They didn’t just “look after” him; they understood him, supported him, and helped him grow with patience, skill, and genuine care. They celebrate his strengths, support his needs, and have always made him feel safe, valued, and included. Our younger child has been with KaiDrums since he was 8 months old, and the love and attention he receives is just as incredible. Both of our children see KaiDrums as a second home — and as parents, that peace of mind is priceless. My husband and I both work, Debbie and her hardworking team has always gone above and beyond to accommodate our schedules and support our family’s needs. They are flexible, reliable, and endlessly understanding — something working parents know is rare and invaluable. I’ll be honest: I don’t trust many people with my children. We’ve never had babysitters or nannies because finding people you truly feel comfortable with is not easy — especially when your child has additional needs. But Debbie is the one person I trust completely and without hesitation. That level of trust is earned, and she has earned it a thousand times over. KaiDrums isn’t just a childcare setting. It’s a nurturing, supportive, and joyful environment run by people who genuinely care. If you’re looking for a place where your child will be safe, understood, and truly cared for, this is that place. We are beyond grateful.
