Inclusion & environment
Staff work effectively with parents and other agencies involved in children's care. This helps children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, to receive consistent support in their learning.
Staff support children to take appropriate risks. For instance, older children regularly participate in forest school sessions, where they learn how to keep themselves safe. Babies benefit from opportunities to explore and climb over soft play equipment under the close supervision of staff.
Staff implement effective strategies to support children with English as an additional language (EAL). For instance, staff help new children with EAL to quickly settle when they become upset by showing them stories in their home language. Additionally, staff learn key words from children's home language which enables them to understand what children are trying to communicate to them.
Merlin House has been a great nursery from the start! The staff's dedication and care are truly amazing. My daughter has not only had her speech and social skills improve massively but she has also developed strong relationships with the staff there. Their commitment to providing individual attention is evident in how they take the time to discuss her daily activities. The nursery seems to be very committed to creativity and engagement. Every day is filled with new and fun activities. The nursery's well-presented facilities provide a fun and inspiring environment for learning and play. As a parent, it's amazing knowing that my daughter is in capable hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Merlin House.

Read on GoogleThis is a great nursery, my son joined here after not getting on with his previous nursery. All the staff are fantastic and very informative about what my son has been up to. His speech has improved since joining this nursery. They always find fun ways to teach children things and include lots of outdoor play into their day too!
Read on GoogleHighly Recommended!! I have 2 children at Merlin House and both of them love it there. They do so many activities with them and you get many updates, photos and items brought home to see just how much they are doing. My preschooler gets to do Forest School which she loves and phonics that is setting her up nicely for school. They are extremely accommodating with schedules or any routines we have at home and all the staff are so lovely and feel really confident my children are looked after.
