Mayflower Playgroup operates as an integral part of Christ Church Haywards Heath, embracing a distinctively Christian ethos. The playgroup warmly welcomes children of all faith backgrounds and none, emphasising that church attendance is not a requirement for enrolment.
Learning is facilitated through play, with a strong commitment to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets comprehensive standards for the development, learning, and care of children from birth to five years old. The playgroup adopts a child-centred approach, tailoring learning experiences to individual needs and interests, supported by continuous observational assessments.
Mayflower Playgroup maintains a high staff-to-child ratio, ensuring attentive care, especially for younger children. The setting was rated "Good" in its most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2022, receiving positive feedback.
They also comply with "The Local Offer" requirements, demonstrating their commitment to supporting children with additional needs. The playgroup utilises the Famly system to streamline communications with families.
