About this day nursery

Kids Planet Heywood, established in 2024, is a childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years, located in Heywood, OL10 1AA. The nursery maintains a remarkably calm and nurturing atmosphere, fostered by staff who interact gently and quietly, creating a peaceful environment.

Children are encouraged to flourish, feeling settled and safe, thanks to positive relationships established with families from the outset, including gradual enrolment sessions. Daily active play, with activities like climbing, balancing, and jumping, promotes physical health.

The nursery offers inclusive care, celebrating diversity and immersing children in a culturally rich environment where children from diverse backgrounds are supported. Furthermore, staff are adept at identifying and supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) through tailored care plans and collaboration with external professionals, ensuring every child progresses from their individual starting points.

However, the nursery acknowledges the need to address inconsistencies in hygiene procedures, specifically nappy changing and handwashing routines, to fully support children's development across all areas.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff quickly identify children's individual needs and have an astute awareness of children facing barriers to learning and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They use care plans to deliver purposefully targeted intervention and learning opportunities. Leaders also consider appropriate use of wider funding, such as early years pupil premium, to ensure maximum impact on children's development.

Outdoor space

Children's physical health is very well promoted through daily active play, including climbing, balancing, rolling hoops, and jumping over tyres. Babies and older children benefit from separate garden spaces that have been specially designed to meet their differing needs. Books are incredibly important to children, who enjoy reading and stories both outside and inside.

Have used this nursery for the last 3-4 years now. Absolutely love all the girls there. I don't know what I would of done without them being a single mum of 2. They've really helped my kids to learn new things, and always very polite and my kids love them like actual aunties. Best nursery ever and best staff ever
