Our ethos
At Kids Planet, we have put together our very own Forest School inspired outdoor learning approach called ‘Udeskole’ that many of our nurseries are training towards and Kids Planet Rugeley has already completed! Udeskole is a Scandinavian concept that translates to “outdoor school” and is an educational approach to outdoor learning. Udeskole focuses on nature-based learning experiences and encourages children to spend more time outdoors studying local wildlife and plants, directly engaging with nature and their environment and helping them to develop their sense of self.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Funding is used exceptionally well in partnership with parents and carers. For example, staff have made unique intervention boxes containing key resources tailored to children's specific needs and events in their lives, such as positive imagery relating to different family dynamics. Staff organise drop-in sessions for parents to talk to the special educational needs coordinator should they have any concerns about children's development. Parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities report that this experience prepared their children positively for future visits to the barbers.
Outdoor space
When children run around outdoors, staff quickly focus their physical skills by initiating a ball game, which further promotes children's social development. Children of all ages take part in regular outdoor activities designed by the internal sports coach to improve their balance, strength and coordination.

My daughter has been going from 18 months old and she is now nearly 3. I cannot thank the wonderful staff for what they have done, they are caring, kind, brilliant and a pleasure to see everyday. They have helped raise her and she has become a wonderful child who's speech and social skills have dramatically improved. Would highly recommend this nursery. Love picking her up and learning what she has done that day. :) xxx
