Little Chimps Day Nursery, established in 2004, is a family-run business with two locations in Wimblebury and Hednesford. They prioritise creating a nurturing, fun, and supportive environment where children can thrive, offering care from birth to school age, including wraparound care and a holiday club.
The nursery embraces the Curiosity Approach, utilising natural resources and open-ended materials to foster a rich learning environment. Their dedicated team, with over 20 years of experience, focuses on developing strong relationships with children and families, providing comprehensive education and high standards of care.
They are committed to inclusivity, addressing the needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through individualised support and following a graduated approach. Safeguarding is a top priority, with highly experienced Designated Safeguard Leads at each setting and all staff holding safeguarding qualifications.
They also emphasise healthy eating with balanced meals and cater to various dietary requirements. The nursery encourages natural curiosity, strong language development, early reading, and equips children with essential social, emotional, and physical skills, all within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Our ethos
At Little Chimps Day Nursery, our vision is to create a positive and diverse culture where children are encouraged to be together, hopeful, brave, and to have fun. We strive to foster strong relationships with both children and their families, offering support and guidance, especially for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We are devoted to providing children with the best possible start in life, building a firm foundation for learning, and enabling them to become confident and independent learners. We are committed to inclusive practices, treating all individuals with dignity and fairness, and promoting a culture of respect regardless of background or identity. Safeguarding children is our utmost priority, and we work collaboratively with outside agencies to ensure the best outcomes for families. Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive a wealth of support within the curriculum. For example, staff use effective communication tools to ensure children can make choices within their environment and send books home to support parents to practise sign language with children. Parents are extremely happy with the nursery and say how effective staff are in identifying key indicators that children need additional support.
Children of all ages benefit from weekly trips away from the nursery. Staff take resources to the local fields and forest areas to enhance the outdoor curriculum, identifying the benefits that outdoor learning has on children's understanding of the world. However, there are times when staff do not make full use of opportunities to support children who learn best outdoors.
Fantastic , friendly and professional nursery. My son has attended for just short of 4 years and he couldn’t be happier at little chimps! All the staff are wonderful and build brilliant relationships with the children! My son has come on leaps and bounds whilst in their care and I can happily say his progress has been fantastic. I cannot recommend this nursery more! Thank you so much for the care you have provided over the years! We will both miss you all!
Read on GoogleGreat nursery and staff, also very flexible with hours, which really helps with my unusual shift pattern. Our son is happy there, and we get updates and a care diary.
