The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Outdoor space
Children practice making 'soup' outside in the mud kitchen, mixing, pouring and scooping. They are extremely physically active, benefiting from many opportunities to get out of breath and use all of their strength to carry large objects as they fill up wheelbarrows.

Our daughter has been attending this nursery for over six months now, and she absolutely loves it. We've noticed a big, positive difference in her since she started at Kids Planet Stretton. Her vocabulary and social skills, in particular, have improved leaps and bounds during this time. Most importantly, she is happy there and will often greet the staff with a smile on her face. The staff are excellent, keeping us well informed about everything happening at the nursery and sharing lovely photos so we can see what she’s been up to.

My two children go here after we moved to the area, and I didn’t think it would match up to our previous nursery. However, I was absolutely wrong! The staff are lovely and so caring, they show a genuine interest in your child’s progress or issues and want to help. Updates on your child are regular including nappies, meals and sleeps. They also post photos and information via their app (Parent Zone). The nursery itself is a huge, Victorian house, but it’s laid out brilliantly- the toddler room is like a large classroom, and the pre-school is the entire top floor and contains lots of different parts including a science lab! The baby rooms are three rooms on the ground floor where they use the space masterfully so the children have plenty of room to develop their gross motor skills. The outdoor area has lots of different zones including a kind of chill out shed with cushions where they do yoga and relaxation, a climbing frame area, gardening section and bikes section. They’re also looking up upgrade this soon and have been keeping us informed. Their recent Ofsted was (deservedly) outstanding and I think it reflects exactly what the parents think about it. I would highly recommend this place if you’re thinking of sending your children there.
