About this day nursery

Kids Stop is a day nursery in Northampton that provides care for children aged from two to ten years. The setting operates during term-time only, from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm. The day nursery was inspected by Ofsted in September 2024 and received an overall judgement of Good.

According to the inspection report, children are happy to arrive and settle well, developing strong bonds with staff. The curriculum is planned to follow children's interests and promote their independence, and staff support children's early mathematical skills well. The inspector found that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported well. To improve, Ofsted noted that staff could consider ways to better encourage quieter children or those for whom English is an additional language to join in with learning experiences.

Our ethos

At KidsStop we create a “free ethos” where children feel relaxed and at home which in turn allows them to be themselves and learn. We plan and provide wholly for each and every child, and this is what encourages them to flourish into “well rounded individuals”

What it's like

Children are happy when they arrive at the pre-school. They are excited to see the staff and their friends. Staff respond to children's emerging needs as they cuddle and reassure children. New children settle well and quickly gain confidence to explore their new environment. Children develop strong bonds with their key person and other staff in the pre-school. Children access a range of stimulating activities and soon become immersed in their learning. Staff plan an ambitious curriculum that promotes children's independence, follows their interests and build on what they know and can do.
