Kingskerswell Playgroup and Nursery has a rich history, having provided childcare for the local community since 1962. As an OFSTED registered charity, its primary goal is to foster the development and education of pre-school children.
The nursery boasts an expansive outdoor play area, which is utilised extensively for various activities, and also features an allotment where children can engage in gardening, planting, and harvesting. The nursery is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, offering both indoor and outdoor play options.
Located in the Parish Centre, opposite the village church, Kingskerswell Playgroup and Nursery serves families from the village and surrounding areas, fostering a close-knit community and strong parent partnerships. The dedicated and experienced early years practitioners, many of whom have been with the playgroup for many years, are passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing continuous care.
The setting offers ample parking for convenient drop-offs and pick-ups.

Charges are calculated at a flat hourly rate. Early Years Education Funding is accepted for eligible two-year-olds and all children from the term after their third birthday, covering up to 15 or 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year.

Parents speak very positively about the setting. They say they are well informed about their child's day and their overall progress via daily handovers and parent consultations. Parents comment that the staff are very supportive and flexible. Parents say that the setting is 'brilliant', and they would recommend it.
Inclusion & environment
Staff identify if a child may have additional needs from the outset and carefully work in partnership with families and external agencies to support the child to reach their full potential. The curriculum focuses on teaching children to develop their speech and language.
Children grow fruit and vegetables with staff at the allotment and develop their physical capabilities while using the tools. Children develop their balance, coordination and control through whole-class exercise sessions such as yoga and accessing the climbing equipment.
