Ladybirds Playschool, founded in September 2011 by primary school teacher Mrs. Kathryn McMullan, offers a vibrant and nurturing environment designed to introduce young children to a world of learning, fun, and social development. Starting as a morning playgroup, it rapidly expanded to include full-time day care, pre-school, and after-school facilities, becoming a comprehensive childcare provider.
The setting prioritises a bright, spacious, and stimulating atmosphere where children are encouraged to learn and grow. Ladybirds focuses on providing a safe, homely, and engaging experience, ensuring that each child participates in a broad and balanced day filled with diverse activities.
This approach aims to foster confidence and prepare them for future educational stages. Following adjustments due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the playschool currently offers distinct playgroup and pre-school sessions, alongside an after-school club at the Seven Towers Leisure Centre.

Inclusion & environment
Children move confidently around the outdoor play areas and take safe risks, for example when jumping off wooden structures, with staff nearby to supervise. They have good opportunities to explore and experiment outdoors, particularly with water, but there are fewer opportunities for children to be more physically active in their play and learning.
Fantastic pre-school with free-flow for children to access indoors and outdoors when they choose. Fantastic staff. Would definitely recommend.
