Laxfield Pre-School offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged six months to five years, focusing on personalised care and inclusive practices. The nursery provides dedicated spaces for different age groups, including a "Baby Room" for infants and a main room for toddlers and preschoolers, divided into "Explorers" (18-30 months), "Creators" (2-3 years), and "Inventors" (3-5 years) rooms.
The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2021), incorporating a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that are both adult and child-led. The school prioritises a holistic approach to child development, working closely with parents and external agencies to support emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
They integrate Makaton and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) daily to foster language development and emotional growth. E.
lessons, outdoor play, and exploring different foods and oral hygiene. As a registered charity, the pre-school relies on community support and fundraising efforts, with a dedicated committee organising events to enhance facilities and educational resources.
They also aim to prepare children for primary school by encouraging independence and social skills through group activities and daily routines. The pre-school has modern facilities, including a large indoor area, a covered outdoor deck, and a grassed playground, situated within the grounds of All Saints Primary School.
