Inclusion & environment
All children make good progress, including children who require additional support or have special educational needs and/or disabilities. The nursery's special educational needs coordinator is very knowledgeable and experienced. She ensures the nursery is inclusive and that children receive the support they need to enjoy a meaningful day at nursery.
Children relish their time in the garden. They concentrate as they pour water through water wheels and watch with fascination as the wheels turn. They take care to water the plants they grow and manage watering cans with skill. Children are learning to take care of the environment, and observe closely for any new residents in the bug hotel they have built.
Good support is provided for children who speak English as an additional language. Strategies in place help children to communicate and make progress, such as the the use of Makaton and visual prompts. Children benefit from bilingual staff who can communicate in a variety of languages with them. There is a strong emphasis to ensure children make good progress in both languages. Any delays in speech are quickly identified and gaps are supported. Children speak their home language confidently during their play.
Leaping Toads nursery has been absolutely amazing and we’re so grateful for the care they give our daughter every day 🥰 The staff are warm, patient and genuinely care about the children’s wellbeing and development. She’s grown so much in confidence, communication and independence since starting, and she’s always excited to go in (which says everything!). The activities are creative, the environment is loving and we always feel informed and supported as parents. Honestly couldn’t recommend them enough 💛🌟
Read on GoogleWe are very happy with this kindergarten. The teachers are kind, patient, and genuinely care about the children’s well-being. The activities are creative and engaging, and my child has developed both socially and academically. The communication with parents is excellent, and the environment is safe and welcoming. Highly recommended!
Read on GoogleWonderful nursery! Leaping Toads has been a fantastic experience for my son. The staff are caring, supportive, and truly invested in the children's development. The facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. My son has thrived in this nurturing environment and always looks forward to going. Highly recommend!
Read on GoogleThe most expensive and traumatic experience for both the toddler and the parents! Our son has been bitten right on his first day there. The accident occurred at 10 a.m. and I picked him up at 1 p.m. shacking with fear. The deep dishonesty of the staff has made me doubt if trust should be served. On my son`s accident form they have lied, stating a smaller bitten area and, also, they have omitted that he has bitten twice, not once. That experience, the lack of attention and care made him have nightmares since then and we are now still struggling to make him comfortable being with new people. More than that, the nursery has refused to give us the money back. For 4 traumatic days we have paid £1000 and they have considered to give back only £378. They said `notice day`. Did they notice us that our child is mistreated and unsupervised there? Is a parent supposed to let a child with dishonest people that lack professionalism and basic training? Dishonesty, lack of professionalism, passive aggressive attitude and mockery (my son has been handed to me like a sack of potatoes when he was shaking with fear, and no apologies from the lady) these are the words that best describe Leaping Toads!
Read on GoogleI had 2 of my children at leaping Toads nursery, and I can honestly say it was the most amazing experience. I am a very nervous parent, and it takes a lot for me to trust anyone with my children, but I did not have one concern while my children were in their care. My children were always so excited to go to nursery and created lovely bonds with all staff members. Sean and Jodie were my childrens key workers, and they made me so comfortable and always looked after my boys. My 2-year-old son was very close to Jodie. I am so grateful to her! The administrative team was also very good! Saman was always helpful and helped me whenever I needed it, alongside Arabella from billing. Overall, I would recommend everyone to send their children to Leaping Toads nursery as it was the most positive experience for me and my family.
