Little Elms Daycare Lee, established in 2010, is situated in a beautifully refurbished Victorian building on Handen Road in South London, conveniently located between Hither Green and Lee stations, with direct links to central London. The nursery is also easily accessible via major bus routes and is approximately a mile from the Lewisham DLR station.
Boasting an 'Good' Ofsted rating, Little Elms Lee is one of the larger facilities within the Little Elms group, offering dedicated spaces for babies and toddlers, and an annex pre-school that opened in 2018. The nursery prides itself on its state-of-the-art facilities, which include comfortable carpeted areas for play and easily cleanable spaces for creative activities.
The pre-school features interactive whiteboards and a specialised IT area, where children develop essential school readiness skills and participate in weekly yoga and sports sessions. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to engage children at every stage of their development.
The outdoor areas are specifically equipped for different age groups. A full-time, qualified chef prepares nutritious meals and snacks, incorporating plenty of fresh fruits.
The nursery caters to children aged between 3 months and 5 years, aiming to provide a high standard of care and education to help every child reach their full potential.
What it's like
Children are playful and keen to join in with the interesting activities planned by staff. They gain confidence in their physical abilities as they explore their movements outdoors and build good relationships with responsive staff, which helps them feel safe and secure. Leaders and managers plan a curriculum that supports children to build on what they can already do and know, helping them develop independence and a love of books.
Fees are structured around an Additional Service Charge (ASC) for funded placements. Families accessing 15 or 30 hours of funding pay a weekly charge, which is optional and does not apply to those on certain fully funded schemes like Together for 2 or EYPP.

Inclusion & environment
Children with emerging additional needs are supported well. The manager has implemented systems to share information with parents and other professionals involved in children's care. This means strategies to support children's development are consistently applied and all children make good progress.
Children gain confidence in their physical abilities as they explore their movements outdoors. Toddlers practise kicking balls and learn to balance on inflatable balls, while pre-school children learn to ride bikes and take part in yoga sessions. Pre-school children ask for wipes to mop up puddles in the garden.
Our son has had a great experience at Little Elms - the staff care so much about him and the others in his class and he always does so many fun and creative activities. He loves going to nursery and we'll miss Little Elms and the team so much when we move out of the area next month.
Read on GoogleI would not recommend this nursery, especially for children with additional needs. Unfortunately, they did not follow the reports and recommendations provided by health professionals, which was very concerning. The staff were also unprofessional, which made the overall experience disappointing.
Read on GoogleI would highly recommend Little Elms. My son started when he was a year old and settled in so quickly. He adores the staff in the room (particularly his key worker) and has developed friendships and relationships that he wants to tell us all about when he gets home. The nursery is a really kind and nurturing environment. Little Elms is a lovely nursery at which my son is happy and thriving. Can’t ask for more than that.
Read on GoogleVery happy. The key worker is so caring and my child making very good bond with them. Every day coming home happy and telling all stories. Staff is lovely and nursery is safe place. Highly recommending.
Read on GoogleFrom the moment that I first visited Little Elms, I really wanted to send my child there. He is always happy and the staff - especially Kaylea, Sky and Nadine - are so loving to him and I know just how much he loves bring there. Highly reccomend!
