Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff communicate well with other health and education professionals. This helps them to put in place strategies to close any gaps in children's learning and development. Staff take part in training to help them support children in developing their speech and language skills. Leaders use additional funding to support children's individual needs. For example, they purchase resources and books to support children's understanding of feelings and their emotional well-being.

Outdoor space

Leaders and staff place a strong focus on learning outdoors in the stimulating garden or at the nursery's forest school. Children are encouraged to be active and take part in challenging and suitably risky play under careful supervision from staff, including learning to use tools safely during woodworking lessons.

Our little one absolutely loves attending Little Green Rascals. The outdoor space is fantastic and gives the children plenty of room to explore, play, and enjoy being outside. The staff are incredibly caring and attentive. They always take the time to listen to parents and give you the space to explain anything you need to, which really makes a difference. Everyone is friendly, supportive, and genuinely wants the best for the children. It’s been lovely seeing our little one so happy there and making some amazing friends. We feel very confident leaving our child in such a warm, nurturing environment.

I can't praise Little Green Rascals in Elvington highly enough. My son has special educational needs and was looked after so well by all the fantastic staff from when he was two years old until he started primary school. It is always spotlessly clean, and the nursery is fantastic for children both inside the building and the playing area outside. There is also a sheltered outside area, which is excellent when it's raining, and the children want to go out. Everyone is so friendly, and all the staff genuinely care about the children and do their best to help them develop and enjoy themselves. My son was very happy there and that is due the relationships he formed with the nursery staff who are all amazing.

What can I say…if Carlsberg did nurseries! On a serious note this nursery has been exceptional. Right from the start my children have felt warmed and welcomed to the LGR family. They have provided a positive stimulative learning environment from Forest school to band class, french, football and woodwork. The food is great and the staff incredible. All nursery teachers have been kind, supportive and approachable. My children always leave with a smile on their face! I get regular updates throughout the day from the app on their meals/nappies and learning development including the occasional photo. My children have experienced all classrooms and I have no issues in any of the settings. The only issue we will have is when we have to say good bye for good.

I highly recommend this Nursery! My first child recently left the preschool to start school and my youngest is currently in the baby room. Right from the start my oldest has felt warmed and welcomed to the LGR family. They have provided a positive stimulative learning environment from Forest school to french, football, yoga and woodwork. The food is great and the staff incredible! Everyone is so friendly and all the staff genuinely care about the children and do their best to help them develop and enjoy themselves. My oldest always has left with a smile on their face and I'm sure my youngest will have great experiences at Little Green Rascals too😊😊 It's a shame they changed 'Famly' into a 'ParentZone' nursery app. With the previous app was so easy to contact or have feedback from the nursery practitioners which now as a parent I'm not able to message my son's key worker unless she/he starts a conversation as a first message. If the key worker is off and I would like to inform the rest of the team about my son this isn't possible do it through the app/private message unless the team knows how to access to the my son's key worker profile. So to talk to them privately I have to call or email the nursery. The features are not attractive: nappies, meals, sleeps they do not appear on the same page but you have to scroll down to know about them. This is a little bit stressful and less user friendly.
