What it's like to attend

• Children arrive happily, keen to start their day, and confidently separate from their parents, demonstrating they feel safe and secure.
• Staff provide a carefully considered environment which helps to encourage independent choices and helps children to feel valued as they direct their own play.
• Children are helped to understand early mathematical concepts well, with staff using a range of strategies to help them grasp the meaning of shapes, numbers, and different quantities.
• Staff have high expectations for all children, and well-embedded rules and routines enable children to know what is expected of them, resulting in good behaviour.
• Staff are knowledgeable and skilled, building on children's existing knowledge and helping them to extend their understanding.
• High priority is placed on developing children's communication and language skills, with staff speaking clearly, repeating new words, and ensuring they face children as they talk.
• Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are very well supported by the staff, who work closely with parents and other professionals to implement individual support plans.
• Partnerships with parents are very good, with parents included in children's learning from the beginning, and staff collecting information about what children already know and can do.
• Dedicated leaders have ambition and strive to deliver the very best outcomes for children, supporting staff's professional development through thorough induction, regular room and peer observations, and supervision meetings.
• The arrangements for safeguarding are effective, with an open and positive culture that puts children's interests first.
• The nursery offers government-funded places for childcare and receives specific funding for disadvantaged children.
