Little Learners in Manchester provides childcare for children aged 0-11 years, operating year-round from Monday to Friday. 30pm.
The nursery re-registered in 2015 and aims to create a safe and enjoyable environment for children, fostering trusting relationships with staff. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities benefit from a broad curriculum tailored to their individual learning needs, helping them to make optimal progress.
The inspector noted strong practice in mathematics, with staff effectively helping children grasp early mathematical concepts, such as counting, recognising shapes, and comparing sizes. Children at Little Learners also thoroughly enjoy books and story-time, with staff modelling language clearly to develop speaking skills.
The nursery encourages kindness and consideration among friends, and offers opportunities for children to learn about respect and awareness of others, including access to books that reflect diverse positive images. While the latest inspection on 23 November 2021 rated the overall effectiveness as "Requires Improvement," leaders and managers are actively making changes to enhance children's safety and support staff development, particularly for those caring for toddlers receiving early education funding.
However, some inconsistencies in education quality have been identified, particularly for babies and some of the most able children, whose learning opportunities are not always sufficiently challenging or socially engaging due to minor gaps in curriculum planning and the structuring of routines.
What it's like
Children are safe and enjoy their time at the nursery, forming trusting relationships with staff. While toddlers and pre-school children have developed strong social skills, babies have fewer opportunities due to minor gaps in curriculum planning. Leaders aim for all children to achieve their best, but inconsistencies in education quality mean some, like the most able, are not challenged sufficiently, unlike children with SEND and disadvantaged children who make optimum progress.

My son attends the holiday club and also attended the pre school when I was an employee. I'd recommend the nursery and afterschool/holiday care to anybody. Whilst being extremely professional , it also offers a warm and safe place for children to thrive- all the children have an excellent rapport with staff and the staff do with the parents. The children also get to experience well supervised trips out into the community such as swimming, the park and bowling for the older ones. My baby will be due to start here when I return to work. It's a setting that I feel 100% confident to leave my baby in and be well looked after.
Read on GoogleAn absolutely wonderful family orientated setting. My children love attending here. This is due to the experience of the staff coupled with the fact they treat each child with love, dignity and respect. I feel as though I’m leaving my children with a family member.
