Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders work with key persons, parents, and external agencies to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well. They carefully consider the targets to put in place for each child and use well-thought-out strategies to work with children to achieve these targets. This helps every child to make good progress on their individual learning journey.

Outdoor space

Children have plenty of opportunity for physical activity, for example, they climb up and go down slides, plant fruit and vegetables, and ride bikes and toy cars. Staff in the baby room carefully consider how to support babies to learn to walk by considering the environment and how to arrange the furniture to support the children to move on from cruising to walking.

Little Leo's is an independently-ran nursery and what made me choose this for my son was because it felt like a home from home. The staff are extremely caring and genuinely want to do the best for the children, going the extra mile to really understand them and be flexible. They're great at reassuring first time parents (such as myself) and I was particularly impressed with the settling in sessions as they cater them for each child depending on their progress. Choosing a nursery is a mindfield - I'm so glad I chose Little Leo's.

I chose little Leo’s nursery for my now 3yo son because when meeting the staff for the first time It felt like I would be leaving him in the care of family! The staff are warm and friendly and very personable, they have a genuine love for the children and it’s clear to see they love what they do ! The nursery is set back in a great location making it feel very safe. There are lots of trees and grassy areas around as an added bonus ! I love to keep track of my little ones progress via the app , nursery staff regularly uploading pictures and videos of my sons progress! The nursery offers a range of activities that cover so many celebrations and feels very inclusive. My son has flourished through each stage of nursery and I know he will have all the skills he needs to start school next year.

Little Leos When our granddaughter started Little Leos in September 2020 my wife and I were quite concerned, 16 months seemed awfully young to be spending 9 hours a day away from her parents. We shouldn’t have worried . The staff at Little Leos are amazing, in no time at all our granddaughter had settled in and each morning would run into play school with barely a backward glance to her parents/grandparents who were dropping her off. Fast forward 3 years our granddaughter has “graduated” her development has been remarkable, her language, understanding of number, physical coordination as well as her social skills all benefited greatly from her time in play school and pre school. My wife and I had to eat our words, Little Leos had been the best thing for her. Last September(23) our granddaughter started “big” school which thanks to her time at Little Leos has gone smoothly. Now it is her little brother’s turn to join Little Leos. At one year old he was even younger than his sister, but after five months he too is thriving. If you are thinking of sending your children to Little Leos, don’t hesitate, they will have a great time and the wonderful staff will ensure they are safe, happy and learning the skills they need.
